Wind turbine emoji request ends in sad face for climate campaigners

The body in charge of creating new emojis has rejected a bid for a wind turbine version, leaving climate campaigners sad faced.

There are a handful of emojis relating to energy and climate change, including a high voltage one and an oil drum, but despite calls from individuals and companies including EDF Energy, there is no wind turbine symbol to represent one of the world’s fastest-growing sources of renewable power.
